Moderate Democrats sided with Republicans in a Virginia Senate Committee striking down the so called assault weapons ban.

According to Fox News, “Four moderate Democrats joined Republicans in Monday’s committee vote, rejecting legislation that would have prohibited the sale of certain semiautomatic firearms, including popular AR-15 style rifles, and banned the possession of magazines that hold more than 12 rounds.”

The committee voted to shelve the bill for the year and asked the state crime commission to study the issue further.

Passing an assault weapons ban and other unconstitutional gun control laws has been a top priority for Governor Ralph Northam since the take over of the legislature by democrats.

Recently, the Virginia senate rejected another gun control bill that would have made improper storage within the home a felony.

Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg pumped millions of dollars into Virginia to help sway the election.
