Shooting a pistol without sights

We’ve all seen the movies where the fastest gunslinger wins the gun fight.  On question that is asked is how anyone can shoot that fast and still hit their target?

Aiming a pistol without using the sights is a skill that takes a lot of practice.  It is also a skill that can help if you’re ever in a self-defensive situation.

Your most reliable way to fire an accurate shot is to use your sights but some situations may not give you the opportunity to do so.

For example, if you are being attacked and are in direct contact with your attacker it could be impossible for you to see your sights before firing a defensive shot.

The way your gun feels in your hand in relation to your target is unique and if practiced, you will become more accustomed and more accurate.

You should train with the gun you intend to use for self-defense and practice until you can hit center mass of your target at close range.

We are legally and morally responsible for every round we fire and while we need to make every attempt to get a proper sight picture, the reality is we may need to be able to aim a pistol without using the sights in order to stop an attack.
