Self Defense becoming illegal as Leftists gain power

The growing influence of leftists is making major impacts on our country that will eventually undermine our entire way of life. As they gain political power, they are striving more and more to strip basic rights away from their political opponents. The human right of self defense becoming illegal is a growing example of the influence these leftist politicians and the mobs are having on our country.

There are several news stories that highlight the growing prosecution of those who dare to resist the mob and protect themselves against their violence. Each of these cases show the clear legal double standard that is being applied to individuals based upon politics.

Missouri couple pleads guilty for defending their own home

Mark and Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges after they brandished weapons against protesters outside their home in June 2020 during the height of riots that overtook cities across the country.

A mob broke into their private gated neighborhood as the McCloskey’s sat on their porch eating dinner. Several members of the mob made threats of violence against the McCloskey’s as they entered the property prompting Mark and Patricia to each grab a firearm to protect themselves on their own property.

Mark McCloskey walked around his lawn on June 29, 2020, with an AR-15. His wife, Patricia, carried a silver handgun to confront the mob.

The Washington Examiner reports:

“[They said] that they were going to kill us,” said Patricia McCloskey in July 2020. “They were going to come in there. They were going to burn down the house. They were going to be living in our house after I was dead, and they were pointing to different rooms and said, ‘That’s going to be my bedroom, and that’s going to be the living room, and I’m going to be taking a shower in that room.'”

Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner charged both of them while law enforcement seized the guns used to ward off the crowd. The McCloskey’s were the only people charged in the 2020 incident even though they were on their own property.

Mark McCloskey recently pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree misdemeanor of assault and was ordered to pay a $750 fine. Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty to a second-degree misdemeanor of harassment and mandated to pay $2,000. Neither will face jail time, though the pair’s firearms will be destroyed by state authorities.

Milwaukee man arrested for being armed inside his home as it was surrounded by rioters

The Milwaukee Journal published an article on September 16th, 2020 on the arrest of a man standing by a window inside his home with a shotgun as a large mob gathered outside his house. Instead of moving the rioters away from the home, the police arrested the homeowner instead.

According to Newsweek, the crowd cheered as police let the homeowner away. Milwaukee had been plagued by riots and arson prior to this incident.

Orion Township couple charged with felony assault after defending themselves and being blocked from leaving a Chipotle restaurant

Jillian and Eric Wuestenberg were both charged with felony assault after an incident outside a Chipotle restaurant According to the Detroit News:

The charges stemmed from a July 1 parking lot confrontation captured on video that went viral.

Takelia Hill, who is Black, has said Jillian Wuestenberg bumped into her 15-year-old daughter, Makayla Green, which led to an argument and accusations of racism.

After Wuestenberg and her husband start driving away, Hill is seen stepping back as the vehicle backs out.

Video recorded by Hill’s daughter showed Jillian Wuestenberg jumping out of the vehicle and pulling a gun. Wuestenberg later told WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) she feared for her life. Deputies responding to multiple 911 calls placed her in handcuffs and confiscated the weapon. She and her husband were arraigned the next day and given $50,000 personal bonds. Eric and his wife both lost their jobs following the incident.

No arrests or charges for those responsible for starting the incidents

No one responsible for causing either of these incidents were ever arrested or charged with a crime. In the incident in Milwaukee, it was easier for the police to arrest the homeowner then to deal with the mob. The same was true with the McCloskey’s as well.

The very definition of unlawful imprisonment is knowingly and unlawfully restraining another person under circumstances which expose that person to a risk of serious physical injury. The couple in Orion Township were clearly being blocked from leaving, were being verbally assaulted and their car beaten as they were trying to leave. But it was the couple who felt the force of the law instead of those who were restraining them.

Charges against rioters dropped by leftist prosecutors

There is a strong contrast shown when we look into cases involving rioters who were arrested in different cities. Recently, hundreds of rioters in New York had charges against them dropped by prosecutors.

According to the New York Post:

In The Bronx — which saw fires in the street and mass looting in June 2020 — more than 60 percent of arrestees have had charges dropped, according to the investigation by NBC New York.

Seventy-three of the 118 people arrested in the borough had their cases shelved altogether, another 19 were convicted on lesser counts like trespassing, which carries no jail time, the report said.

There are hundreds of similar cases coming from Portland, Chicago and other areas dominated by liberal politicians as they prosecute people for protecting themselves.

Incidents such as these clearly show self defense becoming illegal if we refuse to hold politicians and law enforcement accountable. The problem begins with law enforcement officers who would rather violate the rights of an individual instead of dealing with a mob. It them moves to prosecutors who refuse to prosecute criminals for breaking the law while at the same time putting people in jail for protecting themselves.

Self defense becoming illegal would solidify the outright over through of our nation and our way of life. However, the only way it can happen is if we refuse to stand up for the right of self defense.
