There are a lot of optics available on the market today for shooters to choose from. The key is finding one that balances quality and cost. It’s easy to spend a lot of money on a scope. It’s easier to get something that you regret buying. I have owned a Vortex Strikefire 2 red dot sight for a little over a year as of the time of this post. It is been a great optic for my AR 15 rifle and has given me trouble free service.
If you are in the market for a new optic you are certainly wanting the best value for your money. This is something that I understand since I did the same thing before buying the Strikefire 2 myself.
The scope gives you the ability to select either the red or green dot depending on your preference. It also gives you the ability to adjust the intensity level of the dot as well.
Vortex Strikefire 2 Auto Shutoff
A common problem in some red dot sights is that the battery will die if you accidentally leave it turned on. The Vortex Strikefire 2 will turn itself off after a short period of time to conserve the battery. That is something I wanted so I wouldn’t be replacing the battery as often.
The Vortex Strikefire is a great optic for an AR 15 and balances cost and quality very well.
The Vortex Strikefire 2 comes with pop up lens covers and a cantilever rail mount that gives you the ability to use back up sights as well as a magnifier.
Due to the mount height you can easily co-witness your optic with your back up sights. This helps you with accuracy in each of your shots. Adding a sight magnifier will give you additional accuracy at longer ranges.
The only issue that I’ve had with this mount is that it tends to loosen up after a period of shooting. However, by adding a small drop of blue Loctite to the threads the problem seems to disappear.
After a year of owning the Vortex Strikefire 2, I can honestly say that I would recommend it to others. It’s very reliable and a great value for your money.
