Glock 43X Range Review and Comparison

The Glock 43x is a slimline single stack pistol designed for concealed carry. It features a longer grip than the original Glock 43. The extra length of the grip helps to improve control of the gun.

I was very interested in the Glock 43 when it first came onto the market. However, the grip was just too short and didn’t feel comfortable in my hands. Even with the magazine extensions it just didn’t feel right in my hands.

When the 43x hit the market I was very interested. The original 43x came out in a two tone configuration. As a Glock fan, I really wanted one that was all black. I watched as others painted theirs knowing that the demand was high enough that Glock should release it in all black.

Shortly after the Glock 43x black hit the market I headed to the gun store. I knew exactly the role I had planned for this new gun. It is my backup gun and also used for concealed carry when deep concealment is required.

The 43x is available with many options such as night sights directly out of the box. Since it is a Glock, there are also a ton of aftermarket accessories available for it. One of the best accessories for the Glock 43x 15 round magazine from Shield Arms.

Glock 43x vs Glock 19

My primary concealed carry pistol is a Glock 19 gen 4. It is the gun that I rely on the most. It has been through countless classes and training sessions and is holstered on my side as I write this article. My Glock 43x is on me in its backup position.

The 43x is clearly slimmer and shorter than the 19. However the grip length is virtually the same. Glock 43x comparison to the Glock 19 cannot be shown accurately in a photo or video. Go to the gun store and get both of them in your hand.

The 43x vs M&P Shield 9mm EZ

Another popular concealed carry pistol is the Smith & Wesson 9mm EZ. The M&P 9mm EZ is very similar in size to the 43x but has less ammo capacity.

The 9mm EZ was designed for those who may have difficulty cycling the action of many other semiautomatic pistols. You can read my full review here.

Final Thoughts

Glock hit a home run with the 43x. It is a very reliable gun and is one of the best options for concealed carry in my opinion. What do you think of it? Please share your thoughts below.
