Levi Strauss has joined forces with anti gun groups in an attempt to undermine Second Amendment rights of American citizens. Levi Strauss anti gun moves include a three step process. The company will be establishing the “Safer Tomorrow Fund” which will include donations of over $1 million to anti gun groups.
The company partnered with gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety and other executives. One of those executives is anti gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg. Together they formed the group Everytown Business Leaders for Gun Safety.
The CEO made his position clear
CEO and President Chip Bergh recently wrote in Fortune Magazine that the company “simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work.”
According to The Hill Bergh acknowledged that the Levi Strauss anti gun decision is a controversial one. “While taking a stand can be unpopular with some, doing nothing is no longer an option,” he wrote.
Levi Strauss has joined a growing list of companies that are anti gun and decided to become politically active. The company’s decision to undermine the civil rights of American citizens is a disgrace.
There are around 100 million gun owners in the United States. The company’s decision to support anti gun policy could result in declining sales and hurt their bottom line.
Levi Strauss Anti Gun policy pays employees for political activism
The Washington Times reports that the company will even pay employees up to five hours each month for their political activism.
The latest moves by the company are not the first time they’ve entered the anti gun arena. In 2016 Mr. Bergh wrote an open letter asking customers not to bring guns into their stores.
