Democrats introduce Bill making most semi-auto rifles subject to NFA

Democrats in the House of Representatives want to make any rifle with a detachable magazine subject to NFA regulations. Rep. Theodore E. Deutch introduced H.R 1263 on February 14th of this year.

The legislation is another direct attack on the rights of American citizens to own rifles such as the AR 15 or AK 47.  It increases regulation of most semiautomatic rifles commonly used by citizens.

The AR 15 is one of the most popular guns in the US. Democrats want to pass laws to ban most semiautomatic guns.

The test of the bill says it is:

To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine.

NFA regulations require anyone who purchases a rifle with a detachable magazine to purchase a tax stamp for the gun.  A tax stamp may take several months to get from the ATF.

Gun control laws fail to protect people from violence and more gun control will only affect law abiding citizens.

It is important for everyone to contact their representatives and demand they oppose attacks on our Second Amendment rights.
