Remington 870 Tactical Pump Action Shotgun 12-gauge

A shotgun is one of the most common firearms available.  It is in more homes then virtually any other weapon.  The Remington 870 is one of the most popular shotguns on the market and is available in various configurations and colors.  There are also many aftermarket parts available for them also.

Personally, I own Remington and Mossberg shotguns and love both.  However, I grew up shooting the Remington and have many great memories shooting trap and hunting.  My experiences with the Remington make me fond of them.

The Remington 870 has been around since the 1950’s and developed a reputation of quality, reliability and quickly became popular among hunters and sport shooters.  Unfortunately, modern manufacturing is not as refined as it use to be.

The need to cut costs resulted in changes to manufacturing techniques used by the company.  The chamber not being polished as much as it was on older models. Spending time fine tuning a newer shotgun is a lot of fun.

The latest addition to my shotgun collection is the Remington 870 Tactical.  This gun features synthetic furniture and is completely black.

I bought this gun to use for home-defense and keep it close at all times. The addition of a side-saddle and stock pouch allow me to keep more ammo on the gun.  The 12-gauge is extremely devastating at close range but shotguns have lower ammo capacity.
